The Meridian PTO is hosting a Trunk or Treat event this Sunday, Oct. 15 from 2-5. This will take place at Meridian Junior High.
Our Health Services Department is hosting 2 upcoming wrap-around service opportunities for students!
1. Annual Onsite Dental Clinic with OPDS. The date of the clinic is TBD, but please complete consent forms now if you would like your student to receive dental care:

Stop by HES parking lot before the Stillman Valley football game on Sept. 8 from 5:30-6:45 to meet the new principal, Mrs. Buchanan. Treats will be available for students and a free admission ticket to the football will also be provided to all HES students.
The staff Highland can't wait to see everyone on Monday, August 14 at our Open House from 4:45-5:30.

We are partnering up with Rochelle school district and the Ogle County Health Dept. to offer a school and sport physical clinic on Saturday, May 6th!
School physicals & immunizations are required for students entering grades: pre-k, kindergarten, 6th grade, and 9th grade for the upcoming school year. Additionally, 12th grade students have an immunization requirement.
A parent or guardian must be present at the student’s appointment. Appointments are required.

Our onsite dental clinic, hosted with Orland Park Dental Services, will be on Thursday, March 16th (for MC students) and Friday, March 17th (for HES, MJHS, and SVHS students).
Students with no dental insurance, Medicaid insurance and private insurance may participate in the clinic. Students with completed consent forms will receive dental care conveniently during the school day.
Participation in the clinic DOES meet the dental exam requirements for Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, 6th Grade and 9th Grade. (exams are due by May 15th)

PRESS RELEASE: Meridian 223 to host Kindergarten Kickoff
Families living within the Meridian CUSD #223 school district who have children who will be five by September 1, 2023 are invited to register for Kindergarten Kickoff for the 2023-2024 school year at Highland Elementary School. This night is designed to help provide a smooth transition into school for our future students and their parents. Students will participate in a series of group and individual activities, and parents will have the opportunity to attend informational sessions regarding the school and preparing their children for success.
The event will be held on two nights in March at Highland Elementary School, 410 S. Hickory St. Stillman Valley, IL.
Families with last names beginning with letters A through L will attend Wednesday, March 22nd from 5:30– 7:00 p.m. and families with last names beginning with letters M through Z will attend Thursday, March 23rd from 5:30-7:00 p.m.

This Thursday, we will do a Dollar Day as a USA Spirit Day. Bring $1 to help support our school and our veterans by wearing your USA spirit gear!

Conferences will be held in person at Highland Elementary School on Tuesday, October 18th, and Thursday, October 20th from 3-6 PM. If you would like to have a virtual conference, please let your child's teacher or Highland office know and we can help make the accommodations.

Today, our 2nd Grade friends got to spend some time with Paul Bunyan! We had flapjacks and wrapped up our ELA unit with a fun activity. Thanks to Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox for coming over! #WeAreMCUSD
